HVAC Project Specialist - O’Connor Company, a division of O’Connor Group, is looking for a Project Specialist. We sell HVAC equipment and parts. We serve commercial and institutional markets. This new position is open immediately.

Duties Include:

  • Provide equipment quotes on all HVAC products.

  • Order equipment and parts for quoted projects when we receive purchase orders and change orders.

  • Monitor status of orders, including ship dates.

  • Submit shop drawings, O & M Manuals and documentation for projects as needed.

  • Provide technical assistance to engineers and customers as required.

  • Document job and breakdown information on the various projects.

  • Furnish information to, and maintain good relationships with our equipment manufacturers and customers.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • HVAC experience required with a good understanding of mechanical systems’ operation and integration.

  • Capability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Good computer skills which include working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Good phone etiquette.

  • Positive attitude and ability to maintain good relationships with customers, engineers and contractors.

  • Maintain familiarity with new and existing products and equipment, through factory training, factory literature and other sources available to our industry.

  • Good organizational skills.


Boiler-Burner Service Technician - G & R Controls, a division of O'Connor Group, is seeking a full-time Commercial Boiler-Burner Service Technician. This position is open immediately.

Duties Include:

  • Respond to customer service calls
  • Deliver technical support to customers
  • Troubleshoot and analyze hydronic and steam heating systems
  • Check and test system components and make repairs.
  • Communicate with customers to determine corrective action, and accurately document steps taken.
  • Some travel is required with company paying expenses.

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Five years of experience working with combustion, hydronic and steam heating systems.
  • Experience working with other HVAC components and controls a plus.
  • Must have valid drivers license and good driving record.

Control Technician - G&R Controls, a division of O’Connor Group and Independent Field Office for Siemens Building Technologies, is seeking a full-time Commercial HVAC Control Technician. This full-time permanent position is open immediately.

Duties include:

  • Installation of temperature control, building automation, security, and fire alarm systems. This will involve bending conduit, pulling wires, terminating devices and mounting field panels.

  • Some travel is required. Company pays expenses.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Must be able to read blue prints and wiring diagrams.

  • Experience in wiring and good PC skills are a plus.

  • At least a 2 year technical degree.

  • HVAC experience helpful, but not required.

  • Applicant must have valid drivers license and a good driving record.

  • Must be of good character (background check will be conducted).

Physical requirements:

  • Use hand tools.

  • Lift 50+ pounds.

  • Navigate up and down ladders.


Sioux Falls, South Dakota Positions

Aftermarket Solutions Manager - O’Connor Group is a Distributor of Commercial and Residential HVAC equipment, Temperature Controls and hydronic heating and cooling equipment (chillers, pumps, boilers, cooling towers, etc.). We are looking for a person to grow our aftermarket sales and manage our parts inventory. This is a full-time position and is available immediately.

Duties Include:

  • Pursue sales with new customers or those who have used our equipment on their projects.

  • Maintain relationships with major O’Connor Group parts customers and promote O’Connor Group as a primary source for parts.

  • Manage existing staff to maximize efficiency of our parts-ordering process, including internal paperwork, tracking of orders and shipping/receiving process.

  • Manage inventory to support high level of customer satisfaction without compromising availability of frequently needed parts.

  • Oversee customer returns and warranty claims and in turn, see that returns to O’Connor Group suppliers are handled promptly. Minimize obsolescence of parts in stock.

  • Develop new parts sales/replacement equipment relationships throughout O’Connor Group marketing area, focusing on end-user relationships, especially institutional customers (K-12, University, Hospital).

  • Maintain favorable relationships with suppliers and continually seek new sources.

  • Manage training for staff and customers.

  • Work with O’Connor Group field service technicians to ensure prompt availability of needed parts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in HVAC related field.

  • Service background preferred.

  • 5 years experience working with HVAC equipment, controls or contracting.

  • Sales background helpful.


Field Technician (Balancing Professionals, Inc.) - Balancing Professionals Inc., a division of O'Connor Group, specializing in the testing and adjustment of commercial HVAC systems, is accepting applications for a field technician to help our experienced personnel with testing and balancing.

This position involves hands on analysis of HVAC and plumbing/piping systems, including measurement, adjustment, data collection, and documentation of results. Applicants should be able to read and analyze plans and specifications and be able to work well with others in the field.
