Temperature Control System Specialist

G&R Controls is an Independent Field Office for Siemens Industries. We sell building automation and temperature control systems. We serve commercial and institutional markets.

Duties:

  • Start up systems and verify settings on complex HVAC jobs.

  • Service building automation systems.

  • Analyze and document HVAC and control system information.

  • Train customers and provide guidance to contractors and other G & R Controls personnel.

  • Perform advanced application and troubleshooting of HVAC controls.  This may involve components other than the company’s products.

  • Implement advanced networking solutions and custom reporting.

  • Coordinate with electrical contractors to complete jobs on schedule and recommend changes or make adjustments where necessary.

  • Train end users, and provide commissioning reports and job closeout documentation covering equipment, time and materials used.

  • Respond to customer service calls.

  • Deliver technical support to customers.

  • Troubleshoot and analyze systems involved and checking and testing systems components.

  • Diagnose trouble or defects in sensors, field cabinets, or control consoles; determine corrective action.

  • Some overnight travel is required with company paying expenses.

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in a Technical Field or 4-year engineering degree desired.

  • Experience in the HVAC industry with proficiency in job start-up, checkout and troubleshooting.

  • Knowledge of HVAC industry engineering fundamentals and business operations.

  • A professional image and good written communication skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft software and basic programming a plus.

  • Company provides factory training as needed.

TAB Technician

Balancing Professionals Inc., a division of O’Connor Group, specializes in the testing adjusting and balancing of commercial HVAC systems. We serve commercial and institutional markets. We are seeking a full-time person to be based out of our Fargo office and serve North Dakota and parts of western Minnesota.

Duties include:

  • Hands on analysis and measurement of HVAC and plumbing/piping systems.

  • Collect data and document results.

  • Adjust system components to meet engineer and manufacturer specifications.

  • Work and coordinate with others on jobsites.

  • Some travel is required. Company pays expenses.

Control Technician

We are seeking a full-time Control Technician to work out of the northeastern South Dakota area. This new position is open immediately.

Duties include:

  • Installation of temperature control, building automation, security, and fire alarm systems. This will involve bending conduit, pulling wires, terminating devices and mounting field panels.

  • Some travel is required. Company pays expenses.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Must be able to read blue prints and wiring diagrams.

  • Experience in wiring and good PC skills are a plus.

  • At least a 2 year technical degree.

  • HVAC experience helpful, but not required.

  • Applicant must have valid drivers license and a good driving record.

Physical requirements:

  • Use hand tools.

Design Technician

G&R Controls is an Independent Field Office for Siemens Industries, and a division of O’Connor Group. We sell building automation and temperature control systems. We serve commercial and institutional markets.

Duties include:

  • Design Building Automation Systems to facilitate the operation of HVAC components and other automated equipment for commercial buildings and institutional facilities.

  • Analyze plans, specifications, and contracts to determine system requirements for building automation systems for new construction as well as retrofits.

  • Select product sizes, types, and placement to ensure products meet specified requirements.

  • Order computers, software and parts for projects.

  • Organize and maintain job folders and update pertinent job related information.

  • Prepare submittals containing schematics, descriptions and technical literature as required.

  • Maintain current design documents throughout project duration. Prepare “as built” record drawings and documents from data supplied by installation or project management personnel.

  • Provide technical data and other resources to installers and customers. Assist in training customers and installers to operate building automation systems.

  • Troubleshoot communications equipment and peripherals.

  • Project management.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals and HVAC concepts, with an interest in controls preferred.

  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and wiring diagrams.

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in Electronics, Technology, HVAC or other technical field.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD required.

  • Excellent business, verbal and written communication and customer service skills.

  • Project management experience a plus.

Service Technician

Duties include:

  • Respond to customer service calls on temperature control and building automation systems.

  • Deliver technical support to customers.

  • Troubleshoot and make adjustments or repairs to DDC control systems, including sensors, field cabinets, control consoles and other HVAC system components.

  • Communicate with customers and document steps taken.

  • Some travel is required with company paying expenses.

Education and experience requirements:

  • Five years of experience, with a background in HVAC and controls.

  • Applicant should possess good PC skills.

  • Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.

  • We provide factory training to upgrade and maintain knowledge of our DDC control systems.

Physical requirements:

  • Use hand tools.

  • Able to work overhead.

  • Lift 50+ pounds.
